About Mheld Illustration
Maryann Held is an illustrator and maker based in Philadelphia, USA. Her work combines the beautiful and the macabre, featuring intricate, folk art inspired motifs and meticulously rendered imagery. The subjects she explores are surreal and contemporary, pairing flat, graphic designs with central animal figures that are deeply rendered and lifelike. She draws inspiration from naturalist and ornithological illustrations, as well as folk art techniques and traditions from around the world. Her original paintings are primarily done in acrylic, with the addition of other media such as gouache, inks, and casein. **There is absolutely no AI used in any part of her process** Her catalogue of vibrant, high quality prints are all produced to order in her home studio on matte paper with archival pigment ink. 8x10 prints are full bleed, 11 x14 have approx 3/8 border. All prints ship with individual cardboard backing and protective sleeve. If you need prints before the provided ship by date, please let me know. I am happy to accommodate earlier fulfillment times whenever possible!
