About TOR

At TOR, we are a small slow fashion label produced by two friends, foraging, creating and living on the beautiful unceded Wurundjeri country (Melbourne). We are natural dye artists and use the incredible source of nature around us to create our nature-dyed art. There is developing concern about the risk caused by the continuous contact of synthetic dyes with skin. Then there is the environmental aspect. Synthetic dyes are based on toxic raw material and the waste from the textile industry are causing serious environmental pollution. And that’s why at TOR, all of our fabrics are 100% natural, and are processed without synthetic chemicals or dyes. We use a combination of plants, roots, tree bark, leaves, flowers, herbs, food waste and spices to colour our products in harmony with the environment. All of the natural botanical material used in our processes are mainly collected in the wild, and any waste is collected and cycled back into the earth. The do not pollute the water or harm the earth and are 100% compostable and biodegradable. Read their story
