About Ponto Footwear

Ponto meets this moment by mindfully designing footwear that connects us to ourselves, each other, and the planet. We actualize this mission through adopting a footwear design and development paradigm similar to that of an industrial designer, where a silhouette or style is only complete and ready to be brought to market when an individual feature or design nuance cannot be taken away without compromising aesthetic, durability, comfort, and the sustainable footprint of the shoe. This design thesis currently lives in our first shoe line, The Pacific, a hybridized silhouette built for all day comfort, designed to be ready for work, play, and everything in between, and is sustainably sourced and manufactured without sacrifice of the overall utility of our product. Looking like a dress shoe up top, and feeling like a squishy trainer down below, the shoe is made from recycled leather, sugarcane foam, eucalyptus tree pulp, and is manufactured with nearly 100% recycled or bio based materials. The shoe is fully water repellant, packs lightly in a carry-on suitcase, and reduces the multiple pairs needed to suit the many occasions of our busy on the go lives. Read their story
